Details
The National Centre for Sensor Research, Dublin City University is a large-scale multidisciplinary research facility focused on the science and applications of chemical sensors and biosensors. The Centre is one of the world’s premier sensor research centres, with special expertise in sensing for medical, environmental and food applications. A key feature of the NCSR is the multidisciplinary composition of the research team, which includes physicists, chemists, biotechnologists and engineers. There are over 130 full-time researchers at the centre, including 20 staff from the Faculty of Science and Health, involved directly with the Centre. NCSR’s prioritised thematic research areas are Photonics, Life Science & Health and Nanotechnology & Microsystems. The NCSR also hosts a major programme in biomedical diagnostics (The Biomedical Diagnostic Institute – www.bdi.ie).
